Cookies
Wardrail is a tool built on trust, so we keep this simple: we use only the cookies we need to run the product. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no selling data.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of data a site stores in your browser. Some are essential (you can't stay logged in without them); others simply remember your preferences. We use both — and nothing else.
What we use
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in after you log in. | Session / up to 30 days |
| CSRF token | Strictly necessary | Protects forms and sign-in from cross-site request forgery. | Session |
| wardrail.cookie-notice | Preference (local) | Remembers that you've dismissed the cookie notice. | Persistent (local storage) |
| Theme / UI preferences | Preference | Remembers small UI choices so the app looks the way you left it. | Persistent |
Third parties
Payments are handled by Stripe, which may set its own strictly-necessary cookies on its checkout to prevent fraud. We don't run advertising or analytics trackers that profile you across the web.
Your control
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the strictly-necessary ones will sign you out and stop parts of the app from working, but that's your call.
